Get Your Feet Wet: Stepping Out in Faith
Jan 25, 2026 • Bro. Rodney Puryear
What do you do when fear and uncertainty start to shake your confidence? In this message from Matthew 14:22–33, we walk with the disciples into the storm and watch Peter take a step of faith that changed everything. The theme is simple but challenging: trusting Jesus often means leaving the comfort of the boat and being willing to get your feet wet.
This sermon speaks directly to modern life. We all face moments where fear feels louder than faith, where staying safe seems easier than stepping out. Yet Jesus still says the same words today: “Take courage. It is I. Do not be afraid.” This lesson reminds us that doubt does not disqualify us, fear does not have the final word, and faith grows when we keep our eyes on Christ.
