Put off the Old ... Put on the New
In this message from Ephesians 4:17–24, we are reminded that salvation brings real change—not just in belief, but in how we live. Paul calls believers to stop walking as they once did and to embrace a transformed life shaped by Christ.
In this sermon, Pastor Earl emphasizes that Christians are no longer defined by their former ways of thinking, habits, or desires. While the “old self” still exists, it must no longer rule our lives. A renewed mind, shaped by God’s Word and directed by the Holy Spirit, leads to a new way of living that reflects righteousness and true holiness.
This message challenges believers not to live beneath their identity in Christ—like an eagle living as a chicken, or a freed person still wearing chains. Renewal begins in the mind and must be practiced daily as we intentionally “put off” sinful patterns and “put on” the new life God has created for us.
Brother Earl concludes with a personal call to examine our walk: What needs to be put off? What needs to be renewed? What needs to be put on—starting now? God did not save us to visit the new life, but to live it fully, so the world can see Jesus in us.
