The Leper & The Lord

Luke 5:12-16 tells the story of Jesus healing a man with leprosy. As Jesus was in one of the towns, a man covered with leprosy approached Him, fell facedown, and begged, “Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean.” Moved with compassion, Jesus reached out, touched the man, and said, “I am willing; be clean!” Immediately, the leprosy left him. Jesus then instructed the man not to tell anyone, but to go and show himself to the priest and offer the sacrifices Moses commanded as a testimony. Despite Jesus’ instructions, news about Him spread even more, and large crowds came to hear Him and be healed. Yet, Jesus often withdrew to lonely places to pray.
